After seeing alot of the country as a spectator, Todd finally got his first Speedway Kart when he was 8 years old and won countless feature wins, and about every blue ribbon race along the East Coast of Australia along with when he was 16 being undefeated in all but 2 races. While accumulating many karting wins, at this time he also was learning the craft with sprint cars and dirt modifieds actively crewing for numerous teams.
at 16, Todd had built his first non wing car and was competitive right out of the box. AWSR non wings have 30-80 cars each night which has an ultra competitive enigma. where its an achievement just to make the A-main which the Russell Steel/ Koolfreighters v83 has made all but 6 in the last 3 years and a couple wins for a bonus (70 races over 3 years).
Fast forward to 2018 where Todd got the opportunity to race his dad, Lloyd's V8 Dirt Modified he grew up watching. First night out in the Koolfreighters / CTR Truck Sales V84 he destroyed the 1 lap record and finished a reputable 5th place after having to start at the tail each race. First night in the grid he put it on pole however inexperience put him a solid 3rd place also. while knocking on the door for some wins Todd's yet to seal an A main win but after only 6 races he sealed the VDMA Rookie of the Year and 3rd in the points.
Todd, a third year Mechanical Engineering student's firm goal is to be racing competitively in the USA in the Non Wing 410 Sprint Cars in Indiana which his work ethic and drive to achieve this will not quit until its fulfilled as thats just the person he is. This recent summer Todd ventured to Indiana for 5 weeks to get one step closer to his goal and knowing absolutely no one, he reached out to teams to crew for to gather the landscape which he landed on helping Brian Vanmeveren on his journey to USAC national Rookie of the Year, after 16 nights in 28 days he kept at it and was commended for his work ethic and did everything with a smile on his face. Todd's plan to excel that next step further is to again go to Indiana next summer to crew once again along with trying to seal that first ride in a 410 Non wing to get his first race start in the US!
WHAT SEPERATES TODD FROM THE REST?
As Todd is a College Student funding his own racing, he is extremely dependent on marketing partners which in response he must provide a unique and dynamic brand to make him stand out! He does this through his Facebook page and Instagram using direct and subtle marketing techniques including branding his go-pro footage and race results at an extremely high quality. The more interesting thing is Todd does all of this in-house along with the race car and hauler graphics, while maintaining the team mechanically also!
