Past Racing Resume
Blake began racing quarter midgets at the age of 6, winning races at local, regional, and national levels. In his final season quarter midget racing, Blake was also awarded male driver of the year at the Michigan Midget Racing Association. After 8 seasons in quarter midgets, he moved into his first full sized racecar at the age of 14. For the following 3 seasons Blake Rowe Racing competed in the Sportsman Late Model division at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, MI. Blakes first season in full sized competition, 2013, brought one feature win along with winning rookie of the year and finishing the season second in points. Between 2014 and 2015 Blake won 12 feature races including the Owosso Speedway "Nationals" in 2014, broke the track record which still stands currently, and won the 2015 Owosso Speedway Sportsman track championship. 2015 also brought an exciting move back into open wheel competition as Blake Rowe Racing acquired an ICAR Top Speed Modified. With only 3 late season attempts in the modified division for 2015, Blake set fast time twice at the Owosso Speedway and won 1 feature race. From 2016 through 2018 BRR has competitied all over the midwest racing ICAR style modifieds winning 8 feature races. Notable accomplishments include winning the 2016 Spartan Speedway "Harvest", 2017 Lucas Oil Raceway "Cabin Fever", 2017 Owosso Speedway "Nationals", 2018 Birch Run Speedway "Qualifier" & "Cabin Fever 70". Blake also won the 2018 Whittemore Speedway track championship, and qualified and finished 4th of 62 cars at the 2018 "Hot Shoe 100".
About Blake Rowe Racing
BRR is a family owned and operated race team based out of Ortonville, MI. Our start in racing began in 2005, when Blake's parents Brian and Kim Rowe started him in Quarter Midget racing at their local track in Waterford, MI. Being an automotive family our passion for racing was immediate, but now 14 years later it has only grown more intense. Although we aren't a large operation, we pride ourselves in racing against and beating teams with far more experience and resources than we have. We believe in the idea that races are won in the shop, so we work tirelessly throughout the week to be as prepared as possible for every event we show up to. Racing has grown to far more than a hobby for everyone involved at BRR, it's what we center our lifestyles around and we strive to learn and be better for every upcoming event.
In 2019 BRR will focus on competing in the largest modified races in the midwest such as the "Hot Shoe 100", the "Crown Jewel of Modifieds" in Fort Wayne Indiana, the "I-75 Invite" in Birch Run MI, and the Sandusky Speedway "Cavalcade". To prepare for these events Blake will be competing in the "Prelude to the Hot Shoe" series as well as running Sandusky's larger events such as the "Windy 50". Throughout the season we will also be running with the ICAR Top Speed Modified series for select races such as but not limited to Lucas Oil Raceways "Cabin Fever" and Flat Rock Speedway. The remainder of the seasons racing will be filled in based on funding and sponsorship commitments. A great aspect of the modified division is many of the racetracks throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio all race under very similar rules so there are always places to race. If funding can be secured, we would like to begin the transition back into a "template" style racecar such as a JEGS CRA Late Model or ARCA/CRA Late Model. This is the premiere asphalt series in short track racing throughout the country right now, with many different options to rent or acquire a car to run races such as the "Glass City 200" at Toledo Speedway and the "Money in the Bank" at Berlin Raceway.
